What is life too short for?

Spending time  in damaging relationships  — whether its parents, partner or friends, put yourself first. Trying  to please everyone  — by doing meaningless favors, making decisions based on other’s opinion, etc. Pursuing  a career that you don’t care  about — to make your parents happy or to fit into society. Procrastination —  waiting for the day  when you will finally start crushing your goals. Avoiding pain  — not taking risks, staying in your comfort zone, not working enough, etc. Unconsciously watching Tv, movies, social media — trying to  escape the reality  of your life. Never growing as a person, realizing your potential — just  being okay with a mediocre you. You wouldn’t give away your money for free, then why do you give away your time — giving it away to  people you don’t like. Working a 9–5  job that you hate  but never making efforts to get out of it. Above all, not pursuing true joy and f...

What is Rule 1 of success?

Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group Ltd., controls over 400 companies. Branson  started  his entrepreneurial journey with a magazine publication, and has since successfully expanded into a variety of industries, such as music, banking, aviation, space flight, healthcare, mobile phones, retail, travel, to name a few. Branson did not excel at school as he struggled with dyslexia, and was more interested in extracurricular activities. At the age of fifteen, he  started  his first business trying to grow trees. He then dropped out of high school at age sixteen. After quitting school, he  started  a magazine about youth culture, called  The Student . Branson  started  to sell advertisements to companies trying to tap into the student market. He then  started  a mail-order record company called Virgin to complement the student magazine. As his record business expanded, Branson  started  his own record...

How reading can help you succeed in life.

He makes time for it. Buffet once gave students in an investing class at Columbia University the following advice: "Read 500 pages like this every day," Buffett said to the students, while reaching toward a stack of manuals and papers. "That's how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it." Well, we can all build up that knowledge. But are we really doing it? Warren Buffett says, “I just sit in my office and read all day.” What does that mean? He estimates that he spends 80% of his working day reading and thinking. This leads to what is known as the  Buffet Formula: “Going to bed smarter than you woke up.” Why is that so important? We’ve been recording knowledge in books for a long time. That means there’s not a lot that’s new; it’s just recycled old knowledge. Odds are that no matter what you’re working on, someone somewhere, who is smarter than you, has...

I'm 25 years old and I want to become a millionaire by 35. How do I do this?

A bit of simple advice that works for any age. Copy what millionaires do. I’ve studied over 40 millionaires and finally found out their secret to wealth. It took me a long time to piece together the puzzle, but I’ve finally figured it out. Here’s the golden question: What do Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Cuban, and Tonny Robbins have in common? Besides the mulah...they all  read . Yep - reading. Don’t believe me? Let one of the most successful and admired entrepreneurs tell you... Musk built four multibillion-dollar companies by his mid-40s -- in four separate fields (energy, software, transportation and aerospace). How is that possible?  Because he reads. SpaceX co-founder, Jim Cantrell, mentions Elon Musk’s passion for reading, He'd been borrowing all my college textbooks on rocketry and propulsion. You know, whenever anybody asks Elon how he learned to build rockets, he says, 'I read books.' Well, it's true. [...

What is procrastination and get rid if that?

I will become an IAS officer. For that, I need the best books available in the market. I need to be enrolled in the best training institute. I need the advice of a few successful candidates. I need a separate room in my house. It must have a comfortable study table and an Airconditioner. I must have the fastest wi-fi and the best laptop to study. I must take a week's break and enjoy the fullest before I start my preparations. It's too late now I will plan for the “holiday” tomorrow. In the meanwhile, a poor auto driver's daughter was studying under street lamp from torn second-hand books at 3 am in the morning. Procrastination starts from- Putting conditions on a particular task. From the lack of urgency and non-compulsive nature of an activity. From the thought of having a perfect environment to do something. The wait for the perfect moment (which never comes) The thought of undervaluing the present moment. Fear of failures or facing complexit...

5 rule that you should follow from today for the successful financial life

#1: Do not spend money. Invest money. Most people, when making a purchase, ask all the wrong questions. For instance, when buying a new pair of shoes, do not ask how good they look or what brand they are. Ask how long they’ll last, and in what kind of weather, and what the warranty is. If you get a good pair of warm waterproof boots with a lifetime warranty, they could literally be the last pair of boots you’ll ever need to buy. It is much better to buy a $400 winter jacket which will last you 20 years than a $200 one which will last you six. And both of those are better than the $1000 one which will be out of fashion in three. In other words, there are financial ramifications to every spending decision you make. If you buy an iPhone, will you also need a case for it? How expensive is the data plan? If you buy a house, how will that impact your taxes? What is the resale value looking like? #2: A dollar saved is $20 earned This one is pretty simple. If you put $1 in an...

Stop learning too much: Start Acting

This advice goes to all Readers out there: STOP LEARNING SO MUCH! Too many people nowadays spend their time learning and learning and learning, reading book after book, going to seminars, watching tutorials, videos and talking to their friends about theories, ideas and concepts. But none of them actually  do  anything about it and then the ideas never see the light of day! As Les Brown said: “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.” Chances are that you already know what to do. If you watch, read or interact with any form of Success, even through TV, you know some good things to do, even if you just pa...

10 Laws to live by for become successful

1.- STOP looking for shortcuts;  they don’t exist. I still haven’t found it yet. There’s no success in life without hard work. 2.- STOP dreaming;  start planning. Planning reveals the path from dream to reality. 3.- Stop waiting to get started;  today is the day. I’ve waited years for the perfect moment to come. It never does. Warning! Waiting is also an excuse. Excuses are endless. 4.- Stop waiting for situations to change;  YOU change them. I used to be trapped by a “ victim ” mentality, “Everything is against me. It’s so difficult!” True, it can get tough, but know that small, tiny steps of progress accumulate over time. 5.- Stop being a people pleaser;  it’s impossible to make everyone happy. Take a pause and ask yourself, “What it is that YOU want?” I said YOU, not your mom or your friends, YOU! 6.- Stop trying to fit in;  stand out. Be honest. If you have to change your dreams, values, and belief system to fit in somewhere, you’...

Some daily habits to make your life more simpler.

Q:  “What daily habit has made your life simpler?” A: Not just one, but a few habits that made my life simpler: 1) I drink 24 oz (~0.71 liters) of water immediately after I get out of bed . It instantly turns on my brain and rejuvenates every cell of my body. It also makes me go to the bathroom and cleans me out. I like to be emptied out completely and be light on my feet when starting my day. 2)  Shortly afterward,  I drink another 16 oz (~0.5 liters) of my  homemade ginger/lemon tea   made with hot water, raw organic ginger peeled with a potato peeler and shredded with a cheese shredder, and 1/2 fresh lemon also shredded with a cheese shredder. I add some ground cinnamon powder and sometimes a little honey. I do pee like an elephant during the first couple of hours of the day. But that’s ok because I work from my home most mornings. I believe the water and tea are the main reasons why I have not gotten sick in many years. Better health means a sim...
